The Day I Found My Why (and How It Changed Everything)
Picture this:
It’s 1998. I’m wearing my mom’s size L elastic-waist pants — “maternity clothes” I borrowed because I was too skinny to fit into real ones yet.
I had just started my job for the day, excited and nervous about becoming a mom, when the phone rang.
Jerry had been injured at work.
In an instant, everything changed.
He was home on disability for months. We were losing hundreds of dollars each week in overtime pay. The mortgage payment loomed over us, and I didn’t have paid maternity leave.
I remember sitting at the kitchen table, my heart pounding, realizing we couldn’t afford for me not to work… but I also couldn’t imagine leaving my baby.
So I did what I always do when I don’t have the answer — I created one.
That was the day I found my why.
I didn’t start my business because I had a plan. I started because I didn’t have a choice. But over time, that fear-driven beginning became freedom.
It became Atelier Mandaline, and then the foundation for everything I teach today: how to build a business that supports your family, not one that steals time from it.
If you’re standing at that crossroads right now — unsure, overwhelmed, maybe scared — I want you to know: you don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to know why you’re doing this.
The how comes next.
That’s exactly what I’m teaching in my free Wake Up To Sales Masterclass — how to connect your why to consistent income without living online.
