A Castle Wedding and a Freedom Reminder

Yesterday, our son got married.

It’s still hard to wrap my mind around that sentence — the baby I started my business to stay home with is all grown up and married!

He and our new daughter-in-law planned the most beautiful, intimate Renaissance-themed wedding in a real 19th-century castle. Torch light, velvet gowns... every detail felt like stepping back in time. Watching them exchange vows in that setting was pure magic.

For the past couple of weeks, our home has been buzzing with excitement (and laundry). Every room was full of family members who traveled in for the wedding, and I don’t think I’ve ever cleaned this much in my life. By this morning, though, the whirlwind had passed. By 8 a.m., the newlyweds were off on their honeymoon, and the last of our guests had pulled out of the driveway.

I stood there waving goodbye, then came inside, curled up under a blanket, and promptly fell into the deepest nap I’ve had in months. I’m still fighting the tail end of last week’s cold, so that quiet felt like heaven.

But here’s what really struck me when I finally got up: my computer has been upstairs, untouched, all week. And yet every single day, I’ve been receiving payment notifications.

While I was helping decorate the reception hall, running errands, visiting with family, and soaking in this milestone moment… my business kept working.
