Not Feeling Peachy
I called this piece “Not Feeling Peachy” because, honestly, how could anyone be?
I’ve been watching the news like so many of you... watching more and more people brutalized, harmed, and killed in the streets while those in power shrug, excuse it, or openly encourage it. Watching lawlessness dressed up as strength. Watching cruelty framed as leadership. Watching the so-called authority figures ignore the wild illegality of this administration.
In my opinion, Trump is a lawless authoritarian bully: the kind that thrives on fear, chaos, and constant attention. And like most bullies, he’s also deeply thin-skinned (shall we say peach-skinned?), whiny, and obsessed with being admired.
Which is exactly why the most effective response isn’t fear.
It’s laughter.
Bullies hate being laughed at.
They want outrage. They want dominance. They want silence or submission.
But humor? Satire? Mockery wrapped in whimsy?
That takes away their power.
This little peach—grumpy, unimpressed, and very much not feeling peachy—is my response.
It’s intentionally soft and playful on the surface. Bright colors. Rounded shapes. A cartoonish expression. But underneath it is something very real: the need to process anger, grief, disbelief, and exhaustion without losing my mind.
Because if I didn’t have an outlet like this, I honestly think I would go crazy.
We’d be crying if we weren’t laughing.
Art has always been how people survive dark times. It’s how we say I see this, I refuse to normalize it, and you don’t get to steal my sanity too. This peach is satire, yes, but it’s also self-preservation.
And protest.
Right now, “Not Feeling Peachy” is available at up to 40% off in my Amandaline Redbubble boutique, printed on just about anything you can imagine: stickers, t-shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, posters, and more: https://www.redbubble.com/people/amandaline/shop
The posters, especially, make excellent protest signs if you’re so inclined.
I also have a limited number of items available through my eBay and Etsy shops, including stickers, apparel, mugs, and wall art, for those who prefer shopping there. Link to all my shops here: https://mandaline.myclickfunnels.com/shop
If you’re not feeling peachy either...
if you’re angry, scared, tired, or just done...
you’re not alone.
Sometimes the most radical thing you can do
is laugh at the bully
and keep creating anyway. 🍑
