Yesterday Was... A Lot

Yesterday was rough. I’m blaming sleep deprivation. My short summer break is officially over because cross country season started—and that means dragging myself out of bed before dawn to get my son to practice on time.

So, we got up, survived the early morning hustle, and I came home to host an interview for The Online Income Playbook summit with Becky Beach, AI specialist extraordinaire. Let me tell you—you need to run, not walk, to follow her podcast and socials. The interview was packed with incredible insights, and I left buzzing with ideas. I’ll break them down in a future post so you can start using them right away.

Everything was going great… until I realized I’d somehow only recorded the audio, not the video. I have no idea how I managed that. Zoom claimed it was recording, both of our cameras were on, but apparently only the audio made it. It's a running joke in my family that I must give off some kind of electromagnetic field or static charge that fries electronics—I’m always dealing with the weirdest tech glitches.

Thankfully, Becky is an absolute gem and immediately agreed to re-record later this month. If you haven’t already, make sure you join the summit waitlist—you don’t want to miss a second.

I was honestly on the verge of tears when my new bestie, Jo Labbe (another brilliant AI mind and summit expert), messaged me out of the blue. She just thought of me. I swear that woman is psychic. She talked me down, gave me exactly the pep talk I needed, and reminded me why I’m doing all this. I met Jo when I reached out to invite her to be a summit speaker, and it turned out we’re kindred spirits. Having entrepreneur friends is everything when you run your own business—no one else really gets the highs and lows like a fellow founder.

Once Jo pulled me out of my spiral, I regrouped and started making a gorgeous Salmon Wellington with prawn and dill sauce for dinner. As the mouthwatering smells started filling the house, I heard a loud crack from the kitchen. I rushed in, looked around, and didn’t see anything wrong… until I opened the oven. My trusty 30-year-old Pampered Chef stoneware pan had split clean in half.

Jerry helped me carefully move the Wellington into another pan. Dinner survived, but the stoneware didn’t. I’ve already reached out to my sister-in-law (Pampered Chef consultant to the rescue) to order a replacement, but man—that seasoning! It took decades to build up and made everything—even tricky keto bakes—slide right off. Nothing else works quite as well.

After that final blow, I fell off my diet pretty spectacularly: wine and ice cream for dinner. It happens.

But today is a new day, and I’m determined to make it better. Jo, my ever-wise psychic sidekick, suggested I put that audio-only interview to good use instead of scrapping it—and I think she’s right. I’ve decided to include it in the VIP All-Access Pass for the summit. It’s too valuable to waste.

And honestly? Even with the hiccups, the summit is already paying off. I’ve made new friends, forged amazing business relationships (networking finally feels natural!), gained followers, and grown my email list by 10%—and my unsubscribes are down by 47% since I started building and promoting the summit.

So yes, yesterday was a mess. But today, I’m feeling grateful—for growth, for good people, and for Salmon Wellington that still turned out delicious, even if it came with a side of broken stoneware.
