🌞 When the World Was Overheating, I Was Freezing
Today, we’re under a heat advisory thanks to the “heat dome” that’s settled over a huge part of the country. Temperatures soared past 100 degrees. My husband is working late at the power company, trying to keep everything running as the grid strains under demand.
The cats, who eat in the garage, can barely finish their wet food before it starts to spoil. It’s that hot.
And yet… I turned off the air conditioner.
I sat outside in the full sun to eat lunch and read a Miss Marple mystery on my Kindle. The dogs refused to come out with me. Even my Kindle eventually gave up and flashed a warning that it was too hot to work.
But I was fine.
That’s when I knew—my thyroid is out of whack again.
Even without the pile of test results my doctor’s been gathering to adjust my new meds, I could tell something was off. It’s not normal to feel cold when your Kindle is melting down in your hands. My Hashimoto’s is technically in remission, but the damage it did to my thyroid still shows up when I’m stressed or stretched too thin.
And yet… it’s been a really good day.
During my summit interviews, I’ve received the kindest compliments—comments that stopped me in my tracks and made me feel deeply seen:
“You’ve got such a calming, beautiful presence.”
“You’re so genuine and peaceful—it’s like talking to an old friend.”
“Chatting with you is just fun. I’d love to do it again—on any topic!”
Honestly, it surprised me.
Not because I don’t believe I bring value—but because I spent so many years trying to be “more.” More polished. More professional. More of what I thought successful women should sound like.
But what’s brought me success isn’t volume or perfection. It’s calm. Consistency. Quiet confidence.
It’s sitting in the sun with a mystery novel and a lukewarm lunch while the world swelters—and still holding space for others with warmth.
I started this business over 25 years ago selling and repairing dolls on eBay. No website. No business license. Just grit and heart and a willingness to try.
Now, I help other women find their own way into income—especially those who feel like they don’t “fit the mold” or don’t know where to begin.
So if you’re in a season where your energy feels off…
If you’ve been wondering whether there’s a way to work with your body, your life, your natural gifts…
I have a few things that might speak to you:
✨ The Online Income Playbook (Summit)
I’m currently recording expert interviews with incredible women who’ve built income streams from home—often in the margins of naptime, burnout, or healing.
The summit airs August 4–17, and trust me, you’ll want to be on the waitlist to catch it.

Whatever season you’re in—frozen in the heat, or melting from the pace of life—I want you to know there is a way. It might look different from what you imagined. It might start with something as small as warming up your hands in the sun.
But it’s real. And it’s possible.
With warmth (and a slightly too-hot lunch plate),
