What No One Tells You About Building a Dream After 50

This past week was one for the books—equal parts amazing and humbling.

I’m in the middle of interviewing speakers for The Online Income Playbook summit, and let me tell you: the value these experts are bringing is unbelievable. Their stories, strategies, and wisdom are already changing lives—including mine.

But behind the scenes?

Let’s just say it hasn’t all been highlight reel-worthy.

Zoom glitched and failed to record some of the interviews (cue instant panic). I’ve had a migraine since Tuesday that came with aura—if you know, you know... the nausea, the dizziness... My doctor ordered me to stop using screens immediately. And I really wanted to follow her advice ~ but I had interviews to run. And just a shout-out to those under 50: enjoy it now because you aren't going to BELIEVE the explosion of medical tests and screenings that await you once you cross over that line. I am really struggling to go from my single annual checkup to appointments for weeks!

I’m not kidding when I say I was holding on to my desk so I wouldn’t fall over from the vertigo while smiling and nodding through a conversation about work-life balance. 🙃

And that’s when it hit me.

So many of the experts I’ve interviewed—like Tina Lorenz and Sarah Greener—talked about building a business without sacrificing your health or peace. About how doing everything yourself isn’t a badge of honor. And for once… I listened.

Jerry came home from his business trip and stepped right in to help. He grilled burgers for dinner last night while I laid low. The kids did their laundry and even handled the dishes (no small miracle). I didn’t create any content for days, and guess what?

💵 I still woke up to hundreds of dollars in sales Saturday morning after making money all week.
📈 My Instagram is growing.
💬 My audience stayed engaged.
❤️ My business didn’t fall apart.

It turns out… letting go a little won’t stop the dream. Sometimes, it actually helps it grow.

So yes, this summit is stretching me. I still have 9 speaker spots left to fill, and I’m hoping I can wrap up interviews by the end of June. But I know in my gut it’s going to be worth it.

If you’re building something big—or want to—you need to hear these conversations. They’re not just about income. They’re about freedom. Balance. Healing. Doing things your way.

✨ Come join us.

👉 Or apply to be one of the final 9 speakers.

And if no one has told you today: it’s okay to rest. It’s okay to ask for help. It’s okay to build slow and steady, even if that means holding on to the desk some days.

We're still building something beautiful.

With love and aspirin,
Amanda
