From Market Stall Flop to 7-Figure Success: How Jodie Minto Built a Global Fashion Brand by Accident

What if the product that changes your life isn’t the one you planned to sell?

That’s exactly what happened to Jodie Minto.

In one of the most unexpectedly inspiring interviews I’ve hosted, Jodie shared how she went from missing her daughter’s sixth birthday for a corporate meeting overseas… to building a 7-figure fashion business that gave her back her freedom, her time, and her purpose.

And it all started with a few rolls of fabric and a failed attempt to sell organic perfume.

✨ The Accidental Business That Changed Everything

Jodie didn’t set out to launch a fashion brand. She just wanted to get out of her demanding corporate job in Dubai and create something she could run on her own terms.

She started small—selling organic perfumes at local markets. But no one was buying.

In a last-ditch effort to make her stall more eye-catching, she had a local tailor sew a few bright, breezy caftans to hang as decoration behind her products.

To her surprise, the perfumes flopped—but the caftans sold out. And just like that, her business pivoted.

💡 Pivot Fast, Sell What Sells

Jodie didn’t waste time trying to make the perfumes work. She went all in on what her customers clearly wanted—and that’s one of her biggest lessons for new entrepreneurs:

“You have to be willing to pivot. Sell what sells. Don’t get attached to the idea—follow the data.”

In the years that followed, Jodie scaled her brand to 7 figures, became a certified Meta ad specialist, and helped more than 1,000 lifestyle and fashion entrepreneurs collectively generate over $20 million in revenue.

🚀 Her Best Advice for Scaling a Product-Based Business

Inside her full interview at The Online Income Playbook Summit, Jodie shares:

  • Why the leap from $100K to $1M is often easier than your first $10K

  • The most common mistakes people make with Meta ads (and how to fix them)

  • Her strategy for turning a podcast into a high-converting content machine

  • The #1 mindset shift new business owners must adopt to succeed

  • The top trend every brand should lean into in 2025: human connection

Whether you’re selling products, services, or something in between, Jodie’s story is proof that building a profitable business doesn’t start with perfection—it starts with testing, tweaking, and trusting yourself to keep going.
