Ignite Your Instagram Presence with the Remix Feature: A Step-by-Step Guide to Recharging Your Social Media Strategy
Recently I took a course called The Viral Vault because my social media engagement and reach on all platforms was really dropping. Both Instagram and Pinterest recently changed their algorithms and nothing I was doing was working to boost my numbers.
This is especially frustrating because I paid (in fact, I'm still paying on a payment plan) hundreds of dollars for other courses that were supposed to help me get more views.
Ever since social media debuted I've been marketing on it. The advent of Pinterest exploded my tiny eBay account (not even a store) into my current chain of 14 (and counting!) online shops and my publishing company. Linking my blog to my Pinterest was a game changer.
So, naturally I was pretty bummed to find my analytics cratering. This is because everyone wants to become a "pay to play" platform now. They want you to pay for advertising on their platforms. It really rubs me the wrong way to pay for the reach I used to get organically, though. So, I took The Viral Vault and I started a brand-new Instagram account to test it out.
Well, guess what? My brand-new account, which I started exactly one month ago today, has more than twice the reach of my legacy account, which I started when Instagram was still called "Hipstamatic".
Even more amazing, my new account @successful_self_employed_stars, is a "faceless"(anonymous) account! My coaches I paid so much for all said I MUST show my face: Do livestreams! Talk to the camera! Run a challenge! It doesn't matter if you don't have makeup on! People want to see you!
Yeah, well, beyond the obvious privacy concerns that's just exhausting. "Just go live for 30 minutes a day" requires hours of preparation, a script, etc etc, and when I am live I think the most people I've ever had watching was about 7. Then all the people who missed it want videos of it... not to mention, these coaches are women who are around 30. I'm 50. Going on camera is a whole different ballgame for me!
So I am really pleased with The Viral Vault, which you can get for only $97, a fraction of the cost of the courses I took. I am developing my own course, too, and writing a lot of books to go with it. My most recent is tentatively called "Incognito Instagram" and it's all about marketing your business with a faceless account. Click here to get The Viral Vault.
One tip from the new book is using the Remix feature. I tried this for the first time last week and it was amazing. I posted my morning Reel and then went out to sit on the deck and drink my tea. I had my i-Pad next to me. All of a sudden, The screen just lit up. It was all Instagram notifications: like after like, save after save... and not just the Reel I remixed but some of my older Reels that hadn't done much of anything. This has NEVER happened to me before! It was so much fun. One of my Reels got 5000 views in less than an hour yesterday after I remixed another Reel!
So, how do you use Remix? Here's an excerpt from my newest book telling you exactly how to do it:
So, if you want to remain anonymous how do you attract more views and followers? First of all, look for three types of accounts:
First, your ideal persona. These are accounts that have the results you want. They look and sound appealing to you. They have tons of the kinds of followers you want. They are in your niche or a niche you can serve with your offer. Their posts get hundreds of thousands of likes and millions of views. Follow these accounts and, without copying them, use them for inspiration in your content creation. Anytime they post a Reel that really blows up use Instagram’s Remix feature and post it to your account with a caption that’s specific to your business.
To use Remix: click on the Reel you want to use. If the creator allows Remix you will see one of two things: a little recycling symbol on the left side of your screen that says “try remix” or a remix button in the “more” area. You can click on “try Remix” or if you don’t see it, click on the Reel and then on the ellipsis (three dots) on the right side of the screen. Then click on the Remix button on the center top of the screen. The Reel will appear in your creation area ready for you to edit. Add your own hook and stickers to the Reel, and write a long caption about your business and offer. Then post it! Instagram will credit the original creator for you. Instagram is really pushing this feature right now and they will reward you for using it with lots of new views and shares of your own.
I hope you try this and your Instagram blows up like mine has! And don't forget, I have a step-by-step guide to creating digital products called Digital Goldmine. You can wake up to passive income every morning like I do by following the instructions. Get it for free by clicking here.
