How Forgetting My Goals Helped Me Achieve Them Faster

I have to admit, I’ve been down in the dumps for the past few weeks. Remember how I twisted my knee in the stupidest accident ever? I was on crutches for a while but I recovered and was absolutely fine. Then about two months ago we went up to our mountain cabin and I did something that re-injured my knee.

I have no idea what I did; it didn’t hurt at the time, but after we returned home it swelled up more than it did after the initial accident and started to really hurt. So I’ve been limping around and had to start wearing a brace again. After the last track meet at a huge high school where we had to walk at least a mile to the stands I actually considered getting the crutches out again.

This week I’ve been on a strict rest program. Jerry and our youngest son moved my plants outside for the summer and watered the garden and helped me clean the pond pump to keep me off my feet. They carried all the laundry to and from the laundry room and helped me fold it all. I feel bad because they already do so much yard work but I know if I don’t stay off my knee it’s not going to get better.

Then over Easter we went to stay with my parents and I was excitedly telling my mother about the new coach I signed with for the whole year and how I am going to host a summit. This takes me far outside my comfort zone but it’s going to be a transformational event. Well, good old Mom shot that right down, saying she didn’t know why ANYONE would sign up for something like that right now. I already struggle with such insecurity, it really doesn’t help to have cold water thrown all over my plans.

Well, yesterday I opened a notebook to use during a class and found a list I made several months ago. I wish I’d put a date on it… I know it was from November at the earliest. Anyway, it was an exercise from one of my coaches to help with money manifestation.

In this exercise you focus on the results you want instead of just trying to manifest a certain amount of money. You make a list of everything you want or would like to do, like a shopping list or a Christmas gift list from the Universe. Only when you have your list of results do you calculate the price of each thing and add them up to get the total cost, or the total amount of money you would need. Then you leave it to the Universe to decide how all this will happen for you.

So, I made my list and it was crazy long and super expensive. I figured out if I were to achieve all the things on my list in one year I would need to make $150,000 each day! I laughed to myself about that and then pretty much forgot all about it, because it seemed too huge to even contemplate.

Well, guess what? Coming across those things written at most 6 months ago (but possibly less since I didn’t date it) I realized I could cross the first two things off my list! I’m really close to crossing the third thing off. The first two list items cost $7000 together and the third will be $15000. To have an extra $22000 appear in our bank account in 6 months is not a regular experience for us! In fact if you remember a couple years ago we started remodeling our kitchen and ordered the new quartz counters and tile and appliances and then our son broke both his wrists, our water heater, furnace, and air conditioner all died, and our daughter started college all within a few months ~ that was $40K gone in the blink of an eye!

This money manifestation was a lot faster than my normal manifestation process; I almost always get what I aim for, but it usually takes years and feels much harder. I think this was so fast and easy because I forgot about it. I couldn’t worry about when or if I would meet my goals. I got out of the way and let the Universe deliver.

That’s the most difficult part of manifestation for me: trusting it will happen without focusing on HOW it will happen and without feeling impatience for it to happen. I am a Type A person. Straight A student, oldest daughter, mom energy all the way, with all the feelings of responsibility to match. It’s so hard for me to let go and just trust. This time it just seemed so ridiculous I didn’t give it much thought after making my list.

Of course, I haven’t finished the list yet by a long shot. I just wrote down everything I would do if money were no object and there’s a lot left. I’m not even going to re-read it though. I am going to try to forget all about it again but this time forget it with the knowledge and the trust that it is happening. I will forget it the way you forget to wonder if the sun will come up in the morning. You just know it will.

Focusing on my progress with that particular manifestation plan made me realize I have not only been successful creating more financial abundance in our lives; I also achieved a long-held health goal. During my annual checkup right before Easter I found out my Hashimoto’s Disease is in remission! I’ve been struggling with that autoimmune disorder for more than 20 years, 23 of those without a diagnosis. Over the past three years I was able to reverse it using nutrition, mindset and supplements ~ no prescription drugs!

That’s a huge victory for me. The shine was taken off a bit when at the same appointment I discovered my thyroid is damaged; I have a nodule on one side. It’s not large enough to biopsy and the hope is since I stopped the Hashi’s the damage has also stopped so it won’t enlarge. However, once you get a thyroid nodule that area thickens and no longer produces the hormones it should. Mine are already low. My iodine and Vitamin D are also low, so for now I am doubling up on my supplements. I am also packing as much nutrition into my meals as I can. At the end of May I go back to the doctor and we will evaluate whether I should start on a thyroid hormone prescription. Still, if I can reverse such a long-running disease, I am open to the possibility I can also reverse the thyroid damage. I am concentrating my meditations on shrinking the nodule until it disappears.

I added a focus on healing my knee to my meditations, too. For the past week I have pictured myself running and climbing and hiking like I used to when I was young and my knee was healthy. This morning I woke up with no pain whatsoever! Usually when I bend my knee to bring it out from under the covers it really hurts but today it was fine. Then I carried my packages out to the mailbox without limping or pain, even though I wasn’t wearing my brace. That’s enough for today, though. I’m not going to push it since the doctor said I should continue wearing my brace until she checks on it next month. It is important to know your skill level ~ I can’t create instant manifestations… yet!

While I was in my coaching session yesterday I also thought about my conversation with my mom and realized it actually helped me. As I described it to her I was able to overcome all the objections potential clients might have. This is the perfect time for a summit like mine! It’s tentatively called The Online Income Playbook and I will host 28 experts on making money from home. Just as my business was born during our most uncertain time, after my husband’s accident when he was home on disability right when we bought our first house and were expecting our oldest son, so many more businesses will come from this uncertain economy.

This is exactly what I was made for; to help others overcome their challenges! Of course I think my startup method is best because the sales platforms I teach you to utilize take care of all the laws like tariffs and taxes so you don’t have to learn them or worry about them. These platforms have whole departments full of lawyers who can ensure you’re legal even as our orange despot continually changes things with every passing whim. Besides my knowledge though, you will get the wisdom of 28 other experts, many with far larger companies than mine. The summit will kick off August 4th and it’s FREE so just drop me a line if you want to join the waitlist. And if you’re an entrepreneur with at least 5000 people on your email list please email ateliermandaline@gmail.com because I am still looking for speakers. You can expect to reach a 300K audience and you will receive a recording of your interview with all rights to use as you see fit.

Anyway, the “magic list” technique as I now think of it really worked for me! To recap, you make a list of everything you could ever possibly want in your life. If there is a monetary cost, list that for each item. Then add up all the costs so you get the price to the penny. Write it at the bottom of your list. Then put your list away and forget about it. Don’t worry about how you will get the money to pay for this. Just trust the Universe will provide it.

You can also try writing the price down and putting it in a “magic box”. The Magic Box technique can be really helpful if you struggle with the “how” of your manifestations like I do. When I try to focus on what I want my mind constantly tries to move away to the solution. It’s hard for me to give up control and truly understand there’s nothing I need to DO except trust. I know the reason my magic list items manifested so quickly is because I forgot about it so I couldn’t block it by obsessing over solutions.

The Magic Box is also great for people who have anxiety. Our youngest son, the runner, overthinks everything. He worries about stuff constantly. He wants to run a mile under 5 minutes but he hasn’t achieved it during a race yet. He can do it during practice but when he is in an official meet he keeps finishing just a few seconds over. I know this is because he is worrying about it so much and obsessing over solutions, watching YouTube running channels, following running influencers on Instagram, tweaking his diet, etc. So I gave him a “Magic Box”. It is just a nice leather box that Jerry’s wallet came in, but we decided it’s magic.

Anything he puts in there will manifest without any intervention from him. There’s nothing he has to do except write down his desire and put it in the box. So he wrote down the time he wanted and put it in the box. The next meet, which was his last one for the season, he still ran over 5 but he set a personal record, much closer to 4:59. We didn’t know it at the time but he was coming down with a respiratory infection; he woke up the next day with a terrible cough. I am sure if he were well he would have broken the 5 minute mark and I know if he can keep believing in the box and stop worrying about “solving” his time he will get there. I decided I will tear my list out of the notebook and put it in my magic box. I bet it will manifest even faster!

Let me know in the comments, are you going to try a magic list or magic box manifestation? Keep  me updated on how it goes. And don’t forget to email me at ateliermandaline@gmail.com if you want to attend my summit or be a speaker!
