Another Beach Bride
It's funny how the same types of dolls end up in my hospital around the same time. A few months ago Elise had a beach wedding and I also restored a bunch of baby dolls. Now, I just finished another 50s bride doll as well as a bunch more baby dolls.
The bride is a Circle X doll from the 50s. Circle X produced dolls that were purchased wholesale and rebranded by department stores and grocery stores. This particular doll was probably a grocery store doll because her costume, while elaborate, isn't as high quality as the department store dolls usually wear. The metallic lace wedding dress has buttons, but her satin underdress and her net crinoline are pinned on. Her veil is also pinned to her head with pearl-headed pins. The crinoline has wire attached to the hem, making the dress skirts stand out really wide.
With her outfit and hair restored, she reminds me of Elizabeth Taylor in the original Father of the Bride movie! I made some more beach scenes using eBay's AI photo editor. This is a beautiful display doll. She's large too, a little over 18 inches. She would make a great decoration for a vintage-themed wedding or bridal shower. This doll is available with the lowest shipping price from my Poshmark boutique. Sign up for Poshmark with code STUDIOMANDALINE for a $10 credit.
She was in pretty awful condition when I got her. You can watch her before and after restoration video by clicking here.
