You're Gonna Need More Money

Not to be too alarmist, but Elon Musk has your social security number. He’s also got your address and your health information and your bank account number. Although it is blatantly illegal, no one seems to be in a hurry to do anything about this. In fact, Musk and his cronies have been joking about people expressing concern.

I, for one, am pretty concerned. Not only was one of his “DOGE Squad” kids fired from a past job for selling company secrets, but Musk himself has expressed his opinion that all corporations should be required to advertise on X. Musk puts forth this idea on the regular: if you want to own a business you should fork over recurring payments to him, the richest man in the world. Most countries ignore his mafia-style megalomania but our leaders have embraced it. The GOP went so far to introduce a bill aimed at forcing US businesses to advertise on X. It didn’t go anywhere during the Biden administration but it probably could now.

And why stop at businesses? Why not force every American to open a paid, verified X account? Since he has all our private information he could set it up without even consulting you. Just pop a monthly subscription on your tab, right through the Treasury Department. He’s already closed down all the consumer protection agencies that might thwart him.

The idea sure seems less crazy than it would have a few months ago, especially now that Trump, Musk, and Vance are stating their intention to simply ignore court rulings (and the rule of law). Their plan is to scrap the postal service, Medicaid and Medicare, Social Security and the Department of Education and come up with private entities to take over these service. Run by, guess who? Probably them and their friends. Which means everything is about to get a LOT more expensive. 

What are you going to do? Can you afford to pay for private school? Pay 10 times the shipping cost on all your online orders? Quit your job to homeschool? Live without your Social Security/Medicare? And disability or welfare should something happen to you? Forget about it.
